A Note From Jill

As a part of our executive coaching process, we conduct an exploration of work and life history. This information uncovers the foundation of each of us as an individual…here is a bit of mine:

My Mom taught me about loyalty, honesty and “doing more than you’re paid for”. At the young age of 12, I started working as a dance teacher for my mentor and I began to see the value of community and the importance of being passionate about my work even then.

At 19, I was struck by the dream of fame and I moved to Los Angeles. There I learned pretty quickly that the world of fame was not the high integrity, moral world that I was accustomed to. I completed my education at UCLA and became an Artistic Director of a dance studio. My (now) husband took our adventure even further by accepting a job in Monterey CA where I began my “corporate” career at The Pebble Beach Resorts.

I was fortunate to work with both the sales and training and development teams at this world class resort where I saw true loyalty from both employees and customers. The pride that the staff had for the resort and the experiences they created for customers were magical. They had a clear mission to “exceed the expectations of every guest, every time.” So simple, yet not so easy to attain.

My experience there led to an opportunity to work with a west-coast training firm that specialized in 5 Star hospitality sales and service improvement. I traveled the globe for 13 years, working with iconic brands: The Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, and almost every other hospitality brand you could name.

Being a strategic training partner to The Ritz-Carlton Learning Institute gave me first hand experience in the legendary service excellence process of The Ritz-Carlton. Because they won the Baldrige Award for service excellence on two occasions, all types of organizations from banks, to law firms, to retail entities, to school districts wanted to emulate their process. Even today, their service excellence inspires mystique around the globe.

This experience was life changing for me.

My work today is the culmination of learnings from so many brilliant individuals and organizations. I thank them all for their contributions and I honor the opportunity to serve you with the wisdom and grace that I have gleaned.
